Default Theory

This show has not been airing too much in the past few months. one reason is because TV Land is putting this show on at bad times and people like me are waiting for Nick to air it again. Secondly, Family Matters has pathetically taken over time slots for Lucy! What is so good about freaking Family Matters? I am a fan of Family Matters but I want my I Love Lucy too. I have seen the same re-runs since TGIF and I do not think they are that funny anymore. Third and finally, I hope that Nick at Nite will soon realize that they miss their old lineups and decide to apologise to us viewers. What do you guys think? This all truthful because I have witnessed this since last September.

When I first read your post, I thought you were talking about TVLand! You gave me a big scare. I've already given up on Nick at Nite (although I do like Cheers). But Family Matters?!!! Boy have they gone down the toilet! TVLand is my last hope for finding the oldies but goodies: Lucy, The Honeymooners, MTM, All in the Family, Leave It to Beaver, Burns and Allen, and a few other oldies but goodies that I cherish.

Didn't they just put those shows on knowing they would help their fledging new network, well TV Land is established now because of great shows like Lucy that made us suscribe to TV Land in the first place, when i see Sanford and Son following Lucy here in Canada, i wonder what's next? Moesha? There are MANY old shows, but how many are great old shows that you want to see over and over again like Lucy?

Nick at Nite has gone to the dumps. The only show on there is All in the Family that I like. Why did they go to the 80s anyway? Exactly what great show was made in the 80s?

Although i was happy Carol O'connor got the role of a lifetime and all four leads were terrific on that show, but i just NEVER liked it, and for the same reasons as Lucy. Yelling racial slurs and promoting negative steriotypes never appealed to me, i know it was done to make fun of ignorant people who used those expressions, but i never enjoyed the show. Some Edith moments were reminiscent of Lucy though and it got really great at the end when she was raped and the one where she later died, and i did like the one with Sammy Davis.

I reallythink Nick at Nite needs their behinds kicked. They do not have lost their tocuh on how to run a line up. Why do we need doubles of all these shows, they should leave it open to a variety.

Shows I would like to see again

The Carol burnette Show
Sonny and Cher
Green Acres
The Addams Family
The FActs Of Life (it was way too short lived)
MAude
Alf
THE LUCY SHOW
HERE's LUCY
Laugh In

Nick at Nit ein it's infancy had a good thing going. but sadly they take it off.

Family Matters, Isn't that the one with URKEL? and the black family? I know Family ties is on there ALL the time. Family MAtters is done to death on the WB. Family Ties all I can say is there is only so much Michael J. Fox I can take before I get sick, he is a good actor, but I never cared for Family Ties.

I liek Cheers. One episode is sufficient though, All in the Family? well let's juts say when you ahve lived with the Bunkers, you kinda get tired of seeing your family on tv all the time, I mean I have seen them on TV LAND and NICK ATNITE, do they need that much time onthe air? The Cosby Show was always good, but they only need on eepisode each of these shows. When they flood the airwaves with all these hours of one half hour sitcom you get tired and disinterested.....
Now they have Coach, never watched it to begin with and I do not plan on Starting.

I don't like the way Nick at nite runs it's programs anyways because of the choppy editing. and Nick at Nite is not the only one guilty of this, LifeTime does it too. So aggrivating. On Golden Girls they have edited the themesong beginnngs and also the credits were cut and if you are a die hard fan like me and watched in it's infancy then you will notice subsequent parts are cut to allow for more commercial time. Not Dramatically but noticeabally.
Anyways like I said Nick should have stuck to it's guns...it had a good thing going and it loused it up.

I agree with most of what you said, i love Cheers and Cosby, but not to watch all the time, just once in a while. By the way, it's Burnett, that extra e bothers me, please don't take offence. But E Bay gets my dander up with Desi Arnez all the time, so Burnett is my second one that bothers me, sorry about that!

I got interrupted there. I think there are so few shows today that i would watch religiously like Lucy every day, I love Bill Cosby, but don't particularly LOVE the show, i'd rather watch a concert tape of him, he's the best telling stories. Now that i have a satellite dish, i see all these reruns all the time and trust me there are none that i want to see regularly. A few exceptions might be Cheers, Golden Girls, Beverly Hillbillies, Taxi, Mary Tyler Moore, that's about it, but i'm sure i'm forgetting some.

But just because we make a stink, doesn't mean they will change their programming format for us. It has to strike a multitude of people. Then they will change their minds.

Don't be so sure, many shows have been saved by people making a big stink. Cheers was the 70th most popular show out of 71 it's first few airings. Lucy and Desi actually helped save Dick Van Dyke's show at the beginning as it was filmed at their studio and ran on their network!

While I'm on the subject, here's what else I'd like to see:

Route 66- Listen Viacom, this was on Nick in the early days...so how 'bout putting it on TVL now??? Trying to collect them all is so expensive!

Adam-12- But geez...UNCUT!!

Hogan's Heroes- I don't care if it was on TVL since 1996- I didn't have TVL in 1996!

The New Dick Van Dyke Show- Hey folks...I don't get Goodlife!

~"Not at all, they could be carried"
~"What, a swallow carry a coconut?"
~"It could grip it by the husk"

I have learned to always be myself and accept myself for who I am. What this has to do with Nick at Nite is:
1.Nick at Nite, up until last year, has been airing really good old classics.
2.Nite at Nite should have stuck with the classics.
