Countdown To Fall - Prime Time Debuts - 1953-2024
This is my 2nd of 2 fantasy playlist channels that I will feature throughout the spring and summer until the new fall season begins. This will spotlight sitcoms that debuted each season from the 1950s to the present. Each day will feature one specific year and random episodes from the first season of each sitcom. For example, 1964 was a great season for debuts. It marked the first year for "Bewitched", "The Addams Family", "The Munsters", "Gomer Pyle USMC", and "Gilligan's Island". 1970 was another strong year, giving us "All In The Family", "The Odd Couple", "The Mary Tyler Moore Show", and "The Partridge Family" among others. Look for those shows and others as we work our way forward. Today, I will start from way back in the early 1950s with the 1953-54 season, the first year that TV Guide began publishing, and the first time they introduced their iconic Fall Preview issues.

Today will be the first Saturday morning cartoon fall schedule going all the way back to the beginning of the 1960s.
1960-61 NEW SERIES The Shari Lewis Show King Leonardo And His Short Subjects 1961-62 No new cartoon series. That will change in the following seasons. Note: Both the prime-time and cartoon schedules will get longer as the years go on. This is still TV in its infancy. |
