Sad to see this. He has been a leading figure in JFK assassination research for decades and was quite active up until the last few years.

I recently watched the movie Concussion, where Dr. Wecht he was portrayed during his time as Allegheny County Medical Examiner (Pennsylvania). Albert Brooks played him in the movie.

ah yes the Jack Davis Jr. segment is one of my all time favorite segments because Dr. Wecht exposed the local government for not fully investigating, or perhaps covering up, Jack's death. then you see the local officer that didn't care about being exposed as an idiot and doubled down anyway because of the "drunks"

Wecht was at times controversial and was more than willing to become involved in high profile cases. But overall it seems like he was very skilled in his profession. perhaps on another plane he would have made for an excellent UM host.
