I know nobody will care,
but this is big news in Zanesville, my hometown. They will be staying in my neighborhood, a block from my house, at the Fairgrounds. ____________________________________________ The Budweiser Clydesdales are coming to Zanesville July 16-21 Military and first responders will be honored at several events through the week By Steph West Special to the Times Recorder ZANESVILLE − More than a year ago, Matesich Distributing put in a request for the Budweiser Clydesdales to come to Zanesville. Recently, the business got its wi*****he Budweiser Clydesdales will come to Zanesville July 16-21 and be housed at the Muskingum County Fairgrounds.“We made tentative plans just in case (they said yes),” said Kelly Jones, Matesich’s director of marketing and community engagement, who added that requesting the Clydesdales is a competitive process. “They don’t always say yes. It’s based on need. I was able to put in our application that we did have the city of Zanesville behind us, and it was going to be military-branded.”Jones said Budweiser’s 14-year partnership with Folds of Honor, an organization that supports military families through scholarships and other financial needs, dovetails perfectly with Matesich’s and the city of Zanesville’s dedication to military veterans and active-duty personnel. The iconic Budweiser Clydesdale horses will be in Zanesville July 16-21. Matesich Distributing Co. requested the horses and is working with the city of Zanesville and Muskingum County to plan a weeklong series of activities under the theme of Military Appreciation Week honoring veterans, active duty personnel, and first responders. “Our theme for the week will be Military Appreciation Week,” said Jones. “We care a great deal about our veterans and currently serving military. We’re vested pretty heavily in that in all our counties.”Matesich Distributors serves all of Licking, Knox, Coshocton, Muskingum, Tuscarawas, Guernsey counties and parts of Fairfield, Perry, Morgan, and Noble counties, according to their website.Jones said Muskingum County and the city of Zanesville have thrown out the welcome mats in planning this large-scale week of events that will include a parade, a concert, and a Folds of Honor golf tournament fundraiser, among other things.“They’ve been great to work with,” she said. While the details have yet to be revealed as Jones and area partners finalize the schedule, she said everyone should expect a good time.“It’s going to be a week of fun,” she said. “And a wonderful chance to support and thank our military and first responders, as well as see the iconic Budweiser Clydesdales.” Note: Got the story in my email ___________________________________________________ |

THE CLYDESDALES ARE HERE!
They arrived Wednesday night (July 17 2024) The Clydesdales travel with their own "metal stables" and a "poop cart" that follows them when they are on the streets. The "poop cart" team cleans up any messes that may be made in the streets. Zanesville News Story From WHIZ (Were Here In Zanesville) The weblink has a video showing the Clydesdales crossing the Famous "Y" Bridge and around Zanesville ... ___________________ ZANESVILLE, OH – In celebration of 14 years of partnership with Folds of Honor, Budweiser and their iconic Clydesdales are embarking on a cross-country tour and made a special stop in Zanesville. On July 18th, the Clydesdales are parading over the historic Y-Bridge in Zanesville, around 3:30 PM. Following the parade at the Secrest Auditorium, a check presentation to Folds of Honor will highlight the commitment to supporting scholarships for families of fallen or disabled U.S. service members and first responders. The funds presented today will support a local scholarship right here in the community. “We are bringing in the Budweiser Clydesdales to celebrate Folds of Honor and military and first responder appreciation.” President of Matesich Distributing, Sarah Matesich said. “Since 2007, we’ve been able to award over 52,000 scholarships. We would not be able to do that without our partnership with Anheuser-Busch, who to date has awarded Folds of Honor over $28 million to the tune of 5,000 scholarships throughout the country.” Folds of Honor Director of Strategic Partnerships, Jenn Stephens said. The Clydesdales, each weighing around 2,000 pounds, have an impressive diet, consuming about 40 pounds of hay and ten pounds of grain a day. You can visit the gentle giants while they’re in town until July 23rd at the Muskingum County Fairgrounds, from 10 AM to 7 PM. “The Clydesdales have been a part of Anheuser-Bushes history for the past 91 years. They show our tradition. They’re a staple for our company and I’m just really blessed to be able to work with them.” Clydesdale Handler, Megan Arnold said. Consumers 21 years and older can also support the Folds of Honor mission by purchasing Budweiser products in and around Zanesville. Budweiser will donate a portion of proceeds from all patriotic packaging sold between Memorial Day and Labor Day to Folds of Honor.
