Since Norman Fell was told he could not return to Three's Company after the Ropers was cancelled, How was the producers able to get him to come back for that one episode in May of 1981-" Night of the Ropers"?

But the fact that the producers treated him so bad, i would have thought that Norman Fell would have hung the phone up if they asked him to come back for ONE episode and not as a regular cast member like he really wanted. Plus you have to remember that he never wanted to leave three's company anyway. It's like he knew the Ropers would do as well as three's company |

He obviously didn't mind it. If he had hard feelings about his show being cancelled or not being able to comeback to TC, then he would have said no...But he didn't so no, so he wasn't that upset.

Once again, the question i'm asking is HOW THE PRODUCERS WERE ABLE TO GET HIM TO FORGET ABOUT HOW THEY TREATED HIM FOR HIM TO COME BACK FOR THAT ONE EPISODE-i know he didn't mind but I was wondering was he offered a large sum of money for him to say yes i will do it. |

In most cases that's the best way someone can forgive and forget...*shrug*

Norman was NOT fired! His series was cancelled. His deal with the producers was, technically, up. So Norman was probably happy just to come back for one episode. And he loved working with John and Joyce, I'm sure he wanted to return to the set, even if it was for just one episode.

Why? Because the producers can do whatever the heck they want to do. If they didn't want to bring his character back after his show failed, that's their decision.
Why would they want to bring him back anyways after his show failed? Especially if they had someone as talented as Don Knotts to "replace" him. Norman fell was lucky he ever got the job in the first place when you're comparing him to Don Knotts. The producers probably would have hired the more famous actor at the beginning, but they didn't have the funds until after the show became popular. When they brought him back for one episode, maybe it was a sweeps week and they wanted more viewers that week. Who knows. |

I think i liked the Mr. Roper character better because he wasn't as goofy as Mr. Furley. Mr. Roper was able to make me laugh without making those crazy faces and falling around. If the Ropers would have stayed on the show, it would have lasted a little longer-like 86 or 87 |
