Deep Space Nine is one of the best dramas ever made, even better than higher profile The Next Generation, both Star Trek spin-offs. I just saw the post about DS9's rivalry with another 90s sci-fi drama Babylon 5 which I have not seen.

I have now seen The Gathering pilot movie and the first 12 regular episodes of Babylon 5. I like it some, but Deep Space Nine is still much better. Best part of Babylon 5 is lead actor Michael O'Hare. But he is only a regular in season 1 because of paranoid delusions that did not start until Babylon 5 came.
This is the only show he appeared in more than 3 episodes. I preferred the first officer in the movie, was disappointed Tamlyn Tomita didn't continue for the series. (Yet she added nothing to The Good Doctor as one of its original series regulars.) Replaced by a Jadzia Dax clone, but Terry Farrell's Deep Space Nine character was much friendlier. I found out there was a short-lived Babylon 5 spin-off called Crusade, it only lasted 13 episodes.
