Default What was the reason for cutting all the girls after the first season?

I always wonder why the FOL show went from like 9 to 4 girls the next season. Does anyone know why?

First of all, there were 7 girls inm the first season, not 9. And second, a whole bunch of things happened. New crew, producers writers. Plus the show got a lot better after they dropped the girls and had better plots.

I didn;t know the exact number but i was close. So the first season ratings was that low to bring in new producers and writers?

I thought to many things were going on, each character had their own part in the show and I guess it was hard to fit each girl into the show so they cut some of the girls and re-invented thereselves with a new writing crew and producers. The Show started to shape-up with better story lines, and a great cast.

Yeah, I agree with CIB. They just had so many plot lines going on for each girl that it did get a tad confusing.

I'm not too fond of the first season, but I have a question. Would the show have lasted so long if they kept all the first season girls and they didn't add Nancy? In my opinion, I don't think it would've lasted long if they didn't shorten the cast. jmo

Well I personally didn't like the Jo character. I wonder why one of the other girls was not chosen as the 4th girl-what is the reason for having a female fonzie-leather jacket, rough exterior-it was a little too much for me. What is the story behind the Jo-character?

They needed someone who was different from the other girls and Nancy's character gave that to them.
