Default Does anyone else feel that Clair Huxtable was too perfect?

I think i have seen every Cosby Show episode and it seems like the character Clair Huxtable could do no wrong. She was Ms. I do everythig right. Why did the producers make the Clair character that way? It was just too unrealistic-She got all A's in hillman, knew all the children's riddles, it started to get on my nerves.

She also was a partner in a law firm, yet, had time to raise 5 children and cook mostly every meal. At least with Cliff, he had his office right in the basement.

She also always knew when one of the kids, or Cliff, was up to something. To me, that was a bit unrealistic, because it made her seem too perfect-----that she always knew what was going on, no matter what.

Her 'better than thou' attitude does get annoying sometimes. She always brings her attorney tactics home with her.

I think that was the only problem i had with the cosby show-everyone else had made mistakes except Clair-read below and see what didn't make the others perfect

Rudy-messing around with the blender
Theo-getting a D on report card
Denise-dropping out of college
Vanessa-sneak to baltimore with friends
Cliff-eating unhealthy foods

What made Clair not perfect-I can't remember

Clair made mistakes too...they were just not as blatant as the ones the kids made(after all she was an adult.) And Cliff's mistakes were a necessity to the humor of the show. Clair was sort of the glue that held them together.

As for Clair's less than perfect behaviors:
1. She didn't want her little girl to play football, attempted to boycott the games, and then was proven wrong when Rudy became a star player.

2. After Rudy became a star player...Clair became obsessed with the game, acting like a crazed football fan until Rudy lost...again showing her imperfection.

3. Hurt her foot...and refused to use a cane. Then she was tricked by Russell into using the cane he clamed belonged to his father...but was actually made in Korea.

4. After seeing that Cliff was about to indulge in potato chips, Clair stopped him stating how bad they were for him...then he caught her eating them herself.

5. Always put Vanessa in charge of Rudy(in early episodes.) You might think the disasters that followed were Vanessa's mistakes...but I think Clair was at fault as well. She should have expected it from an eleven year old and a six year old.

6. Was verbally attacked by her oldest daughter after she "kidnapped" her grandchildren without due cause.

That's all I have for now. I love Clair...she is a great character. And although she may be the most perfect character on TCS...she had her moments of imperfection as well. Plus, she always did what she thought was best for her family!
