Man Takes 54 Years to Finish Marathon

One of the first Japanese athletes to compete in the Olympics disappeared during the 1912 marathon. He later made the Guiness Book of Records for longest completion time: 54 years, 8 months, 6 days, 5 hours, 32 minutes, and 20.379 seconds. During the time of all those decades when clock for the first marathon would later be ticking, he also competed in the 1920 and 1924 Olympics.
