Post The worst of the worst in syndication...

What shows do you think shouldn't be in syndication? Whether it's because you don't like them or because they just don't deserve it.

Case in point, I think Dharma and Greg shouldn't be in syndication because the show wasn't all that popular in its original run and basically rode on the coattails of more successful shows for a few years. What do you think?

Any show deserves to be in syndication especially rare ones.

Yeah every show deserves a chance for syndication. If the ratings aren't good, the local station has the right to take it off the air.

Anyway I agree that Dharma and Greg won't be successful at least here in New York. But it deserves a shot. By January channel 11 WPIX in New York will move Dharma and Greg to a crappy timeslot and The Fresh Prince of Bell-Air will once again air twice a day as in years past.

That's sort of my point, why bother getting syndication rights if you're going to bury it? The same thing happened to Drew Carrey, 3rd Rock from the Sun, Suddenly Susan, The Nanny and a few others.

Full House
Suddenly Susan
The Nanny
Dharma & Greg
Caroline in the City
Home Improvement
Family Matters
Third Rock from the Sun
Friends

These shows are on all the time on my local stations, but I have to have cable to watch the shows I like, if they're syndicated at all.

Any show that has 95-100 episode that are currently done should be able to go into syndiction no matter how bad their ratings were. Even the Hughleys which had terrible ratings should be able to go into syndiction like they have done.

Actually... Drew Carey has survived syndication here in L.A.

....and although some shows don't get spectacular ratings during it's original run.... some do better in syndication.

For example, Saved By The Bell was a SATURDAY morning sitcom... and after (on syndication) it became a successful prime-time show. (in-some areas)

I think it's amazing how Saved By The Bell is still ran in basic broadcast here in Southern California.

Thumbs down

Married ... with Children, The Simpsons, Will and Grace, Cheers, and Friends do not deserve to be in syndication, as is the case where I live. Give me back The Andy Griffith Show, The Brady Bunch, Happy Days, Perfect Strangers, and The Wonder Years!!!

Speaking of which.... I noticed that Moesha totally disappeared from syndication here in LA. Last season it was on 2 channels 3 times a day.

Not that Moesha is all that good, but I watch it cause i love Brandy so much.

Moesha most likely left syndication because it's going to TBS next year. It disappeared here where I live (Florida), too, so that's probably the reason.

Anyway, all shows deserve a chance in syndication, but I feel they go into syndication too quickly. Wait until the 5th season ends, then syndication, not the 4th, but oh well, again, all shows deserve a chance in syndication.

I didn't mean all of Florida, but it probably disappeared in most major markets. It aired at 9:00am daily on WTVX, UPN 34, but then it was replaced by The Hughley's. So, I'm pretty sure the reason Moesha has pretty much vanished is because it's going to TBS next year. But, of course, I could be wrong (although it IS going to TBS) about the reason it's vanished from most syndication.

I think that shows that lasted three seasons or less have no business being in five days a week syndication. It's okay if a station wants to air short-lived sitcoms like Two Of A Kind or Smart Guy only twice a week (once on Saturday and once on Sunday) but airing short-lived sitcoms five times a week is just plain wrong.

Yeah right- Andy Griffith, Perfect Strangers, and the Brady Bunch are better shows than Cheers and The Simpsons?

Apparently you aren't very clever or just have really bad taste.
Ask someone who has a clue as to the quality of the shows you named in favor of Cheers or The Simpsons.

I was wrong, Moesha still airs. The local station must have changed their schedules, or TV Guide Online is wrong (which probably is true...) I'll have to watch one day to see.
