Several years ago, I posted a lot of messages about the impact that the third-season episode "Samantha's Protest" had on me. The main thing that caught my attention in this episode was the secondary plot of Katie's giddiness over the handsome boy from the protest. Throughout the episode, she flirted her butt off hoping to wet his appetite. She got nowhere! I thought it was a great form of poetic justice when Samantha's burst her bubble at the end! One of the reasons that I have not written anything about that in a while is that I was tired of other posters telling me that I had beaten that topic into the ground. On top of that, I have been dealing with a lot of other issues both on and off of the internet. Well, being that we are living in the age of reboots, I thought that it would be appropriate for me to revisit this topic. You see, virtually every episode of this series has been uploaded multiple times onto You Tube. At this stage in the game, very few messages get posted in the comments section. I am guessing that this is mainly because of how old a show this is and the degree to which people have moved on. Well, less than a week ago, someone posted a comment on one of the uploads of this very episode! Someone posted that Julie was actually prettier than Katie. I agree with this poster in a way. I think that Katie was pretty in an obvious way. However, in my opinion, Julie's sense of decency and sophistication made her more attractive than Katie. I loved the smile on Julie's face when Katie got her bubble burst at the end! I posted a reply to this comment about two days ago. I told the poster about the context in which I agreed with his or her point of view. I was hoping that the original poster would comment on my post or that one or more other posters would tell me what they think of my ideas. I was really hoping to make one or more new friends on that site. So far, nobody has replied to my comment. In the same way that Katie was unrealistically optimistic about getting asked out by the handsome boy from the protest, I was unrealistically optimistic about finding some new Internet friends. Maybe there is some type of support group in which Katie and I can attend meetings!
