Whatever became of Adina Howard's career?

In my box of music I discovered a singer named Adina Howard and she released her debut album in 1995 and I remember from learning about her that Adina Howard was gonna go far and I found her album in a Goodwill and found that she did have an awesome voice and that her first single was later covered by UK pop group Sugababes and Adina released her second album but it never saw the light of day and Adina Howard as now on an independent label. In R&B music when new artists debuted I never understood how a singer disappears after releasing one hit song
