Sitcom actors who played parents but never had children in real life - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Pretty much just what it says. Let's list actors and their roles where they played parents on a sitcom but in real life they never had any children.

James Avery. He played Philip Banks who had 4 children on The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air. Although I guess you could say in real life technically he was a father. He married a woman who had a son from a previous relationship, and I believe he was 12 years old when they got married. So James Avery did have a stepson, but he never fathered any children of his own.

Betty White. She played Rose Nylund on The Golden Girls and Rose had 2 or 3 children on the show (I forget exactly maybe somebody else will remember). But Betty White never had any children of her own.

I had one other actor in mind also but I can't remember who it was now. But I'm sure I'll think of some more later.

Nancy Dussault - Too Close for Comfort
Lynn Borden - Hazel
Robert Mandan - Three's a Crowd
Neil Flynn - The Middle

Bonnie Franklin - One Day at a Time (stepchildren only)
Linda Lavin - Alice ("no biological kids")

On Petticoat Junction, Betty Jo had Kathy Jo, but in real life Linda Kaye had no kids of her own.

Michael Gross= ( Family Ties) although he has 2 stepkids

Dan Lauria & Alley Mills=( The Wonder Years) although she has stepkids though her marriage

Tracee Ellis Ross=( black-ish)

Debra Jo Rupp=( That 70's Show)

Allison Janney =( Mom)

John Mahoney=( Frasier)

Swoosie Kurtz=( Mike & Molly) & ( Call Me Kat)
