"The Birthday Party" episode - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Right now I am watching this Cosby Show episode called "The Birthday Party". It is an episode in the 6th season about Olivia's Birthday party Don't you feel that it is a little bit of a ripoff of the episode called "Slumber Party"? An episode from the 1st season about Rudy's slumber party.

Exactly-i posted the same meesage about oliva's 4th birthday party last night on general discussions. It defintely reminded me too much of the Slumber party-it's like they were going backward.

I think that they tried to re-invent a lot of the same themed episodes with Oliva that had already been done with Rudy. You can just see a lot of simularites between the two. For instance, did you notice that Oliva's best friend (can't remember his name), just happened to be a boy? Rudy and Kenny.........Oliva and (what's his name)

Well that's probably why most people stopped watching the Cosby show because you are not supposed to repeat yourself. The show is always supposed to move forward not backward. I personally think oliva was nothing like rudy-they were completely different. I bet you more people would like rudy better.

They didn't even try to hide it. Both "Slumber Party" and "The Birthady Party" had twin girls playing patti cake. And you are right about the best friends. Olivia best friend does remind me of Kenny.

Yeah i know-when i saw the twins playing patti cake, that was it for me-you can defintely tell they ran out of ideas.
