Why did Fonzie wear a shirt jacket in the early episodes?? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I've been watching the WGN episodes of Happy Days and in the very first season Fonzie is wearing a shirt jacket(a green khaki jacket)?? Also was wondering which episode was Fonzie's wearing his leather jacket first appeared??

Also , I think the big shots at ABC thought the black leather jacket would be associated with crime. Ye of little faith.

Yup, and then when they saw how popular the Fonz was..it became a staple and the rest was history!! I, however, always preferred the cloth jacket lol. Except for season 3--that jacket look rugged and nice. But, towards the end, it didnt even look like leather, it looked like vinyl or pleather or something lol.

Yeah, his jacket was different. I liked the old black leather one he wore in the earlier episodes.

That's what I've read recently in the paper about da Fonz and his leather jacket, although I don't remember him wearing a black one, hmmm.

I Agree With Everything! His Leather Jacket Was Rugged In Season 1 (He DID Wear On In The First Season Just Not That Much) Until About Season 5 (It Looked Almost Black Back Then) Then After That It Was Light Brown With A Tint Of Orange, But Still The Fonz Was Cool And Always Will Be!
