Question Question about Freddie

I think what happened to Freddie is awful. I think everything happened to fast for him. He was so young, a superstar who had all the money, women and sadly drugs that he wanted. My question is this. At the end of the E! True Hollywood Story his wife Kathy said that if she had been there talking to him before he shot himself he would have listened to her. Why didn't anyone call her?? By the way, I really don't think he meant to kill himself. Rest In Peace Freddie. I hope you find the peace in Heaven that you felt you didn't have here on Earth.

you know on that show they said freddie was calling his family and some friends to say goodbye. why didnt he call his wife? why didnt he reach out for her?
maybe because he knew she could talk him out of it and he just wanted to die. i guess we will never know. i wish he had called her so bad....

Maybe it had something to do with the restraining order? Perhaps he wasn't allowed to contact her in any way shape or form except through a lawyer? Sometimes, when someone is f'ing up their life so badly, you have to let go because there's only so much anyone can do.

PS. I didn't see the E! special because my cable provider doesn't have E! so I couldn't tape it while I was in Wisconsin. I could have E if I had digital but my current financial status won't allow it.

I didn't know there was a restraining order against Freddie. If that's the case, that would explain why he didn't call Kathy.

There was no restraining order against Freddie. He had just received notification that Kathy wanted full custody of their son, FP Jr.

By the way, if you read the out-of-print book, you will find out that Freddie did call Kathy that night. He told her he loved her very much and he loved the baby very much but he needed to find some peace. He shot himself a little while later.

I read the same thing. Back then (The 70's) that wasn't known. I also found out that he did call his wife before he died. We must've read the same article.
