tv land 2 minutes per episode cut - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

our local upn network, ch 44 in San Francisco Bay area is broadcasting the Munsters.

there is 22 minutes of running time on TV land, and 24 minutes on UPN.

Tv land cuts out about 30-45 seconds of a particular scene, and the rest is cut 1 second at a time at each scene change...aka micro editing.

If I didn't run the tapes/dvd discs (I recorded) side by side, I would have never known. However, I assumed TV broadcasts are cut down, but each broadcaster has their own discetion on how much.

Yep, you are right. TV Land shaves off a couple of minutes just so they can fit in more commericals. More commercials mean more money for TV Land. I would like to see these shows in their complete entirety, but I guess that's asking too much.
