Default My Wish for a Sitcom React Channel on YouTube

I just had the idea (but no ways of actually making it myself) of a React series, much like they have on YouTube. However, this one would feature a group of various teenagers from ages 16-19. They sit down and watch three first episodes (or pilots) from three different sitcoms. Based on that first episode and having little-to-no knowledge on the series (which is why I’m choosing teens), they have to match the series with the number of seasons it ran.

For example:
Mister Ed – “The First Meeting” (1961)
Family Matters “The Mama Who Came to Dinner” (1989)
NewsRadio – “The Pilot” (1995)

After watching all three episodes, they would have to answer which show they think lasted 5 seasons, which on lasted 6 seasons and which one lasted 9 seasons. I think if you didn’t know anything about Family Matters, based on the first episode alone, you’d be surprised to learn it lasted 9 seasons and they might pick 5 seasons instead. But each episode of the React series would have three different first episodes, each with a different number of seasons. It would be fun to see their reactions and educational as the host would then give them certain information about each sitcom they just watched (after they guessed the seasons, of course).

It would be interesting, though I'm doubtful you could get teens to sit through three episodes of old shows.

Cool idea.

But I agree that getting young people to watch B/W tv shows would be tough.

Yeah, I guess that's why I tried making a game out of it, by guessing the seasons at the end. Maybe they would do it for the chance to be regulars in their own YouTube show... or maybe cold, hard cash would do the trick, lol.

I'd like to include single season shows as well. Based off the pilot, the viewer might like it and think it lasted a few seasons and would be shocked and bummed to find out it's so short-lived. And the reverse of that could be true, too. There's a first episode they really don't like and be surprised it's such a long-running show.

I don't know. I think it's a fun idea, but I agree about teens not wanting to watch older shows.
