Default Tape Seller's

I may be stepping on some toe's here but I felt like voiceing my opinion. I have a large video library unfortuantly I don't trade or sell but I do buy. I feel that most of you who sell on this board charge entirely too much money for item's in your library. I have some rare item's that people would pay big money for but even knowing that (if I sold) wouldn't charge the prices I've seen on here. The show's I have are item's such as New Leave It To Beaver, Whiz Kids and Sheriff Lobo and most of you are selling show's that are on Nick at Nite, TV Land and basic cable channels. I think if I were to sell it would be for 10 bucks for a video at slp/ep mode. Now this is just my opinion, i mean after all we all aren't made of money.

I 100% agree. I mean, $5.00 for a tape is reasonable, but I, only if I have to, ask for $4.00. That covers buying 1 tape, and the shipping and handling. I'm not in trading to make money, but to get the shows I can't find anywhere else. If at all I make profit, it's usually $.50 cents, LOL. I can't really say what I'd charge for anything, because I'd rather get something in return, so, what would you say would be reasonable? Just make a list if you want, like rare original network broadcasts vs. TV Land/NaN/Cable airings, etc... Just so I have an idea if anyone insists on paying me, which again, I don't usually like to do.

I prefer trades myself but I do realize some people do not have anything to trade and I will not keep them from getting a tape they want just because they don't have something I want. I don't charge for profit because I'm not trying to make a living at this. I usually charge $7 for a tape. This covers costs of the tape, packaging, and shipping. I usually profit 0.75 to $1 that I put in my little coin bank to put toward a VCR in the event mine ever wears out. Ebay amazes me. I see tapes sale for $75 and up for something that is a copy!

I also have a large video collection, and I too would rather just buy tapes cuz there really isn't a lot more that I really need. In most cases the video collectors that I've met on the net charge no more than $20 a tape, which I am actually fine with. But I needed a particular episode of Bonanza and a dealer got in touch with me (through sitcomsonline) and wanted $45!!!!! Now , to me, this is outrageous. And though I really wanted the episode I refused to pay that much. I had been burned once before on some high priced tapes so I told the dealer that and asked if he'd be willing to go lower in price or work out a trade. And guess what I got.......yep that's right, NO REPLY!!
