Default Goodlife TV's Current Shows

Here's a list of the shows that Goodlife TV currently airs, notice many shows were shortlived series:

Ozzie & Harriet
Make Room for Daddy
Getting By
Down to Earth
Mayberry R.F.D.
Apple's Way
The New Dick Van Dyke Show
One Big Family
Highway to Heaven
It's a Great Life
The Loretta Young Show
77 Sunset Strip
Bourbon Street Beat
Hawaiian Eye
Surfside 6
Dangerous Assignment
The Lone Wolf
Bronco
Cheyenne
Maverick
Sugarfoot
The F.B.I.

So now, the question is, why isn't this channel being distributed better?

I'd like to know that too. I can't believe the dishes don't have it. Well...yes I can. They NEVER get anything good.

I pray every day that DirecTV adds GoodLife. I mean, if Dish added it, I would probably buy Dish, that's how much I want this channel before any programming changes. I also cannot understand why it's not distributed properly...

Apparently goodlife is the "mystery" channel that nobody can get. No dish has it, I can't find any cable system that carries it either. So somebody should tell the operators of the channel that nobody is getting the channel they are broadcasting

Well, I know two posters on here who get GoodLife on cable (JT and garrettgam). Garrettgam has been nice enough to tape a few things for me, but we haven't done a trade yet. Very few cable companies offer GoodLife. I have DirecTV, but I don't even think my digital cable offers TV LAND! LOL, so, it may take a while for many systems to begin airing GoodLife. I've sent numerous requests to DirecTV, and even Dish. I told Dish I would gladly subscribe to them if they offered GoodLife!

Advertising JT is always a good thing, Junkie

Sadly, "Make Room for Daddy" and "Ozzie and Harriet," two family sitcoms from the 50s, "O&H" being the longest running sitcom ever, were both dropped from the Goodlife schedule, being replaced by the 60s "Laugh-In" ripoff "What's It All About, World?" and some GTV original programming for weekdays. Here are some times I memorized for some of the shows:

Ozzie & Harriet: No longer on network

Make Room for Daddy: No longer on network

Getting By: Sundays @ 10:30pm (central)

Down to Earth: No longer on network

Mayberry R.F.D.: Sundays @ 8 & 8:30pm and 11 & 11:30pm (central)

Apple's Way: Not sure, I think it left when "Down to Earth" and "One Big Family" left

The New Dick Van Dyke Show: Sundays @ 9 & 9:30pm (central)

One Big Family: No longer on network

Highway to Heaven: Monday-Friday @ 11:00am and 7:00pm (central)

It's a Great Life: No longer on network; left with "Down to Earth" and "One Big Family"

The Loretta Young Show: Sundays @ 3:30pm (Central) NOTE: I plan on watching for the first time this weekend

77 Sunset Strip: Thursdays @ 8:00pm and 11:00pm (central)

Bourbon Street Beat: No longer on network

Hawaiian Eye: Thursdays @ 9:00pm (central)

Surfside 6: Thursdays @ 10:00pm (central)

Dangerous Assignment: Sundays @ 3:00pm (central) See my NOTE for The Loretta Young Show.

The Lone Wolf: Late Saturday Nights @ 2:30am (central) NOTE: This may be called early Sunday morning, but most people would stay up late on Saturday nights to watch it, instead of waking up early on Sunday mornings....lol

Bronco: Tuesdays @ 10:00pm (central)

Cheyenne: Tuesdays @ 9:00pm (central)

Maverick: Tuesdays @ 8:00pm and 11:00pm (central)

Sugarfoot: No longer on network

The F.B.I.: Fridays @ 10:00pm and late Friday nights @ 12:00am (central)

The schedule also includes:

My Sister Sam: Saturdays @ 7 & 7:30pm (central)

What's It All About, World?: Sundays @ 7:00pm (Central)

Tony Orlando and Dawn: Saturdays @ 8:00pm and 11:00pm (central)

Jimmy Durante and the Lennon Sisters: Saturdays @ 9:00pm (central)

Leslie Uggams Show: Saturdays @ 10:00pm (central)

Blue Night: No longer on network

Gallant Men: Wednesdays @ 9:00pm and late Wednesday nights @ 12:00am (central)

Diamonds: Late Saturday nights at 12:00am (Central)

Finder of Lost Loves: Mondays @ 8:00pm and 11:00pm (central)

The Days and Nights of Molly Dodd: Mondays @ 10 & 10:30pm (central)

Homefront: Mondays @ 9:00pm and Wednesdays @ 10:00pm (central)

Combat!: Monday-Friday @ 6:00pm, late Monday nights-late Friday nights at 2:00am, Wednesdays @ 8:00pm and 11:00pm (central)

So as you can see, the channel is kinda like an eternal block party summer. Mondays is shows basically about love and romance, Tuesdays is westerns, Wednesdays is war sagas, Thursdays is private eyes, Saturdays is varieties and one drama, and Sundays is one variety and some sitcoms. Still thinking about what Friday would be classified as though...

No problem JT ! Well, that's too bad Make Room for Daddy and Ozzie & Harriet are gone, but GoodLife still has some great shows on it's schedule.

77 Sunset Strip. Hawaiian Eye, and Surfside Six are totally 50s cool. They are all black and white which to me adds to the ambiance. The characters are glamorous and tough and good-looking in 50s terms. There is lots of violence but very little blood. Private eyes were very big back then and they all packed heat. The inside sets were kind of crude, the outside setup shots very pretty, the stories quite basic. The whole thing is kind of film noir--call it TV noir. If you want to be go into that more dangerous other 50s world, (outside of Lucy-Beaver-Father Knows Best), this is it. It's a history lesson--the clothes, the sets, the lingo. Love how Kookie says "Cool, Daddy" and a teenaged Connie Stevens!!

This channel is pretty good. The only shows I occasionally catch though are My Sister Sam and Highway to Heaven. The good thing about this network is that they don't crunch the credits at the end or do any voice-overs(unless they do and i just missed it)

Yes, e-mail your cable company and tell 'em you want GoodLife. It's well worth it!

I sooo want it before it turns into any regular cable channel (smushed credits, voicovers, shows rerun to death...) Well, I'm glad I found someone to tape a few things off it for me.

I would love to have this channel. I would love to see the New Dick Van Dyke Show which I don't think I have seen since I was a kid. It was (at least in the first two seasons in Arizona) almost as good as the original DVD show. I wish they would put the Doris Day show on too. I'm going to write my cable station requesting the Goodlife station.

Trust me, they're both gone. Their 10 & 10:30am (Central) slot was changed to something else, their 6 & 6:30pm (central) slot was changed to something else and their weekend slot at 7 & 7:30pm (Central) was replaced with WIAA,W?

Time-Warner cable has it in Northeast Ohio, but you have to have digital cable. I really wanted to see Down to Earth again, I havent seen it since like 1987. Too bad they took it off.
