If the Jack tripper character was the same on Three's a Crowd as he was on Three's Company, why was the show so short-lived? I mean John was extremely funny on Three's Company so since i never saw Three's a Crowd, I was wondering was The character Jack tripper completley different on Three's a crowd. And since TAC was connected to TC and had the star of TC on it's show-i guess it's hard for me to understand why the show was so bad.

B/C people missed their old Three's Company family! I think!
John was probably just as good or who knows maybe (I haven't seen it) even better on that other show but I think people were so used to the other (TC) cast !

no i think people were just tired of that kind of format 3s a crowd was not that great but i did love the shows theme song i thought the surfer cook was cool, but the show may have had better ratings if they had brought don knots over as furley, thats what i would have like to see.

Jack without Janet ... It's just not right. Even if they didn't fall in love, they were still great friends.
I think it's the same with "The Ropers". They were still the Ropers, but without the trio they weren't the same. And the show only lasted a season and a half. |

Jack was different because he wasn't a womanizer anymore
