Why did CBS use a rock/classical styled theme for it's NASCAR races in the 90's? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

When I used to watch NASCAR races on CBS in the 90's I noticed that they used a rock/classical styled theme in the 90's that was first heard on CBS's coverage of the 1996 Daytona 500 and I often wondered why this theme song was used for NASCAR races? When I would hear it I thought it sounded more like a theme for a Marvel Superheroes movie and out of place for a NASCAR race. It's a surprise that CBS changed the theme song to a better theme song for it's later NASCAR races because I guess people were not happy with this theme song. How did this theme song get used in CBS's NASCAR coverage in the 90's?

I don't know why CBS used this theme song for it's NASCAR racing coverage beginning in 1995 and it seemed to mean that CBS was trying to attract younger teenage racing fans by adding a rock/classical styled theme and I wonder who performed it? It reminded me of Trans-Siberian Orchestra and I wonder if it's really Trans-Siberian Orchestra who performed CBS's NASCAR theme in 1995?
