Just thinking of all the storylines that wouldn't work now.
Like Greg and Bobby being locked in the freezer at Sam's shop. Greg and Bobby would have cell phones and be out in a minute, plus do butcher shops even still exist? Mike installing a payphone to solve the kids' phone issues, or ANYTHING having to do with the telephone basically. Bobby and Cindy getting lost in the Grand Canyon, they'd obviously have cell phones. Jan receiving the mystery locket and them trying to track down a typewriter that drops it's "y". I suppose someone Alice's age today could still own a typewriter though. When the family was trying to show Bobby what a bad person Jesse James was, but all his bad acts were edited out of the movie he was watching, now they could just pull it up online and let Bobby see for himself. Sometimes it makes me wonder if like really young people could even enjoy half of the episodes of a show like this who's plots relied on many things of the day, would they even know what was going on? lol, I've heard there are many younger people who didn't even realize phone books existed lol |
