Default TV Land KITSHCEN

I was watching the horribly edited versions of SOAP on TV land Friday night and I had to get something off my chest. First of all, those two hosts, Fred Willard and Martin Mull are about the worst hosts I have ever seen. They make fun of the shows they are showing, for example, last week Willard said "Here you can always find something on" and Mull said "no matter how lame the show is." As a fan of all the shows in the current lineup except Square Pegs, I took offense to that and about 5 other comments. Those shows are not lame, rather it is the network and the people hosting their shows. Also, they keep calling these shows things like "retro rarities" and things like that. SOAP ran for four seasons, Perfect Strangers for Seven, Welcome back Kotter Four, making a total of fifteen years on the air. These are not shows people have not heard of or are "lame" for watching. You really want to see a retro rarity? Watch that piece of trash that TV Land had on before SOAP with Martin Mull called Fernwood 2 Night!

They show the same promos of them over and over again, I think it would just be better if they hosted the TV Land KitSchen live, therefore we could see knew bits every night instead of seeing lame promos of them making jokes, there jokes are highly uncanny. I think they just put all their new shows in one block, and call it the TV Land KitSchen, because they have no timeslots to fit into their schedule. You kind of figure there should be new hosts now and then, if the hosts aren't in any of the listed shows. I think it would be very exciting for them, if some of the characters on the shows would come and visit or possibly host. Instead of having the same host every time.

Default Tvland is clueless

They should only be showing shows that have not been on tv for a long time and short-lived. what's the point of showing us a series that lasted 7 years, we are not gonna want to see a sample of these shows. I like perfect strangers and soap and would rather see all or nothing.

That is a great idea about having some of the stars of the show doing the hosting. Also, it would be nice if they kept a show on the kitchen for more than a few weeks.

To agree with your other point Ericguy: TV Land Kitschen needs new hosts!!!! They are horrible!! Why do they make fun of these shows which were much better than the other crap like Fernwood 2 Nite which is horrible!!! I think that the shows they show on there such as Soap, Perfect Strangers, Welcome Back Kotter (not on anymore but still....) are great classic shows which need not be made fun of!! I'm sick of those two!

It's nice to have somebody agree with me. Both Nick at Nite and TV land have a habit of making fun of thier shows and those they don't, they ruin by the terrible editing they do to fit in a few extra commericals. I remember once during a WKRP show they ran that they replaced an old WHO song that Johnny Fever did with a country song because they were too cheap to pay for the rights to the music. If that wasn't bad enough, if you have ever watched WKRP the station plays classic rock!!!! TV land does not care if the show makes sense as long as they get thier stupid promos in. I wonder if when Fernwood 2 nite comes on if Martin Mull will rag on his own show? I won't be watching to find out.

I don't know how anyone COULDN'T agree with us!!! Martin Mull and Fred Williard are just not cool and people deserve to watch shows that are good and not need to be made fun of by 2 jackasses who's show was absolutely crap!

I can't comment on how well Martin Mull or Fred Willard do the Kitschen segments because I have never seen them, but before we say they are not funny people in whole.....let's not forget the hillarious soap opera spoof SERIAL with Mull and Willard countless brilliant film roles. Willard's scene in Spinal Tap is hillarious and not scripted. Who can forget when he asked Tap if they ever heard of the band 2 Jacks and a Jill.

well, i've known of Fred Willard from when he was the only human on "D.C. Follies", the rest of the cast were puppets. i don't mind him and i think Martin Mull is good. the problem is, TV Land has got in their heads that the shows they program on the Kitschen are being discovered by a whole new audience (which may or may not be true) and the writers feel that with the current trend of TV viewers being irreverent, they opt to have Fred and Martin joke about the shows. i guess the producers/writers of that show think that we're nuts for liking short-lived programs? in their mind, they're laughing with us...not at us! yeah, right! i agree that long running programs have no place on a show dedicated to obscure, short-lived series. "Perfect Strangers"? they oughta replace that with "AfterM*A*S*H" or "C.P.O. Sharky".
