Default Get anger management or start writing your feelings down

I'm horrified that the child was abused, but the mother should've had more sense. Get into some anger management classes. Get a diary and if you feel like cussing the whole world out, do it there. I know that doesn't help all the time, but it does release some of the steam. If I get pissed, I just get out the diary and vent it there.

Didn't the mother look both ways before she started punching the kid? Who knows how long she's been abusing the kid. Nobody really knows what happens behind closed doors.

I saw that on the news! She seemed to feel bad about it and said that she regretted it and couldn't believe how vicious she looked on the tape, etc. Who knows if she was lying or not?Its true, you never know if this is an isolated incident or an ongoing pattern. She should be held accountable and definitely needs to get some professional help, and work on any problems she may have. Hopefully that will be the end of it, but I also think that DCF should investigate and someone needs to keep an eye out for any future signs of this sort of behavior from the mother, just in case it is a pattern. I know that seems harsh if she really has no history of this, but its better to be safe than sorry. Too often these cases go unchecked for years before something is done, even when the signs are obvious.

I think she should be held legally responsible,
I think she should be held reponsible for the actions that she took, too. I don't think it was just a case of anger. The child was 2 years old! A person shouldn't be near kids if they're going to act violently towards them.

Red face

When I saw that tape I felt bad for the baby and for the mother too. The mother needs counseling of course. Who knows if she is raising that child alone with no father. Does anyone know? Anyway she does need counseling and she should be monitored because I'm pretty sure the baby loves her Mom and wants to be with her Mom. I'd rather her Mom have the baby than the system...

That lady is so sick! I saw that tape on CNN. That poor child. Thankfully the child is fine. I don't care if the lady was pissed......there is no excuse for what she did. Child abuse is wrong. They need to beat that lady's ass so she knows what it feels like!!!!!!!!

I believe the girl was four. Either way, someone should take to the mother with their hand as she took to the child. Things like that really make me angry.

...Which is exactly why she shouldn't get away with it. She knew what she was about to do so she looked to make sure nobody was watching. She planned it, it wasn't like he suddenly lost control and smacked her kid once. On the AOL welcome screen there's a picture of her crying and saying "I just lost my temper." I'd be crying too if I knew I was about to go to jail. What a bitch.

I, too, saw the video of this woman unloading blow after blow on this small child. There is no way something like this can be justified. I've also seen news clips of her afterwards, in which she acknowledges that she went "overboard", and wants people to believe that this is the only time something like this has happened. I don't believe a word she says.

I think what we saw has happened many times in the past, and this time she just got caught. I hope they throw the book at her.

Unfortunately, I'm sure some sleezeball lawyer will come along and try to make us all believe that somehow, some way, the mother is the victim here. Nothing is anybody's fault these days. No one is responsible for their own actions anymore. The mother's actions will be blamed on society, or the government, or the schools, or some obscure "disorder" or "syndrome" that this "poor woman" supposedly suffers from. Mark my words.

(BTW, Has anyone interviewed the father? Are there other children in that household? If so, is anything being done to protect them?)

She took her fist and just hit her over and over. That bitch deserves to die in a horrible painful way!

What kind of a mother is that??? Learn to control your anger, or you dont DESERVE children.
