I was watching the season 4 episode where the other housekeepers in the neighbourhood found out Tony is making 50% more than they do. I was wondering, how much could he have been paid by Angela at the time? What would be normal for a housekeeper? Meanwhile he has free room and board, as far as I know Angela paid for the groceries right? No rent, no tv bill, no electricity bill, no phone bill, no maintenance/repairs to worry about, no mortgage, etc. so maybe even a little bit of pay was enough and got Sam into the nicer Connecticut school.
I wonder about the actual number, like was it $200 a week ($10k a year, $31k in today's dollars)? Or would that have been a ridiculously high salary in 1984 for a housekeeper in a rich area? |
