Default TV Shows and Characters Set In/From Indiana

One of the tributes on today's blog was for an actor from some show on Peacock set in Gary. I have lived in Indiana (Fort Wayne) most of my life, and there are several other posters here who call the Hoosier state home including biffbronson, stevea, GentlemanJim, tenter, and janet42.

Shows
The Middle-9 seasons on ABC from 2009-2018 set in the small town of Orson, by far my top 21st century US sitcom
og One Day at a Time- 9 seasons on CBS from 1975-1984 set in Indianapolis
Parks and Recreation- 7 seasons on NBC from 2009-2015 set in Indianapolis
Close to Home (crime drama starring Jennifer Finnigan)- 2 seasons on CBS from 2005-2007, set in Indianapolis
Bust Down- current show on Peacock set in Gary, 6 episodes in the first season from this year. Star Jak Knight committed suicide, so it is likely one and done.

Characters
Most famous one is Major Frank "Ferret Face" Burns on M*A*S*H, from Fort Wayne.
The premise of Our House (1986-1988 drama on NBC) is a recently widowed Indiana mother (Deidre Hall as Jesse Witherspoon) who moves her family to California so the kids (a pre-90210 Shannon Doherty as Kris, Chad Allen as David, and Keri Houlihan as Molly) can be with their grandpa.

S.O. poster Gentleman Jim is also from Indiana. I like The Middle as well.

Characters:

On Cheers, Woody Boyd is from Hanover, IN (southeastern part of the state).

On Family Affair, the Davis Family members had lived in Terre Haute, IN, growing up there before moving to New York -- and they return for a visit.

I might mention too that on My Favorite Martian, Martin is given his fictional place of birth as South Bend, IN. Of course he is from Mars.

The Sci Fi show Eerie Indiana comes to mind.

Richard Kimble, Lt Gerard and a raft of others on the tv show "the Fugitive"

I'm from Indiana, just south of Terre Haute.

The Jeff Foxworthy Show was set in Bloomington (home of the Hoosiers!)

Jim Gaffigan, a comedian who had a show with a brief run on TV Land, grew up in Chesterton, Indiana.

Which isn't directly related to the topic.

The Middle and Parks and Recreation are both from Indiana (from fictional communities).

The original Bewitched cast had 2 actors who were Indiana natives:

Dick York (Darrin) - Fort Wayne
Irene Vernon (Louise Tate) - Mishawaka (adjoins South Bend)
