Default GI on Entertainment Tonight next Sat. - 9/28

I just saw the previews for next Saturday's Entertainment Tonight weekend special. There will be a segment on "Gilligan's Island Home Movies," which I'm assuming are the ones on the Surviving Gilligan's Island DVD (which comes out on TUESDAY!).

As far as interviews go, I know Dawn is interviewed, but she's the only one in the preview so I don't know about anyone else.
Quote from the commercial: "When I first got to Hollywood, they'd ask me what I've done and I'd say 'Miss Nevada' and they'd go 'Beauty pageant...she must not have a brain in her head; she just wants to be in movies 'cause she thinks she's pretty.'" Ouch, Hollywood, way to assume people are dumb.

Just giving everyone a heads-up on this. Also featured are segments on Rue McClanahan, Joe Cocker, The Match Game, and Jerry Van Dyke (who mentioned passing on doing GI).

For me, it airs on Saturdays at 7 PM eastern on CBS. Check your local listings though..!

No problemo guys! It was pure luck that I saw this though. I was flipping channels and came to CBS right as the credits began to roll for Entertainment Tonight and, always intrigued by the weekend ET shows, decided to wait and see what was on next week. I'm glad I did! LOL.
I was getting bored by the previews and was about to change the channel when I heard Jerry Van Dyke say something about GI so I had to listen. Right after that the preview for the GI segment came on.
It was a close one, but I caught it. LOL.

I just checked TVGuide.com and it says that tonight's episode is reairing tomorrow afternoon at 2pm (at least for me locally it is...) You'd be able to catch the preview at the end of that episode...if you cared. **shrug** LOL.

Hey everyone, I just saw the ET Special.
They showed a few outtakes from the DVD and some of the Home Movies. Also was footage from the GI episode of 'Roseanne' and clips of an interview done in 1982, which, I believe, was on the set of 'The Harlem Globetrotters on Gilligan's Island.'
Overall, not much stuff I've never heard before, so you didn't miss *too* much if you didn't catch it.
(Dawn did tell part of The Prison Story, as I have dubbed it. LOLOL. I love it. Russell told the whole thing on that 'Truth Behind the Sitcoms' show that aired a while ago on FOX. Hysterical...)

ok....i am incredibly ticked. i hate my cable company. i looked in the tv thingy to see if it was on. it wasn't on the main cbs station....but it was on a local one. so i checked where it lists the channels that our cable has.....and it said that it was channel 6. i thought that it was, because i remembered seeing cbs stuff on there. so i flip to channel 6, getting all excited, and i see a priest talking. i'm thinking.....this looks like the catholic channel....but that's channel 58 (i'm a total channel surfer....i remember). so i flip to channel 58....and it's oxygen! our cable isn't even supposed to have oxygen! what the heck??? it even had it on the tv guide channel as channel 6 being local cbs and channel 58 being whatever the catholic channel is. AHHHHHRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!

what makes me really upset is that i'm a fairly new GI fan (i became obsessed this summer) so i haven't seen hardly anything about it ever. i caught most of the E! true hollywood story because i just happened to be flipping through and saw it on....but that's all i've seen. i want to see interviews and stuff!!!! *sniff, sniff*

oh well. i guess i'll get over it eventually.

O no! I'm sorry! That sux... Well, FX reruns the "Truth Behind the Sitcoms" every once in a while. The episode contains "Diff'rent Strokes" and "Gilligan's Island" stories -- it's really funny... Be on the lookout for that. Also, the GI episodes of "Roseanne" and "Baywatch" reair on TNN and TBS every so often..
You'll be able to see some of the specials and interviews soon...there's always new ones or repeats!
