Some Presidential History
On this President's Day, the station I have on most of the time, is doing presidential history stuff.... The shortest President caught me ear.
The tallest U.S. president was Abraham Lincoln at 6 feet 4 inches (193 centimeters), while the shortest was James Madison at 5 feet 4 inches (163 centimeters). I wondered and now I know: The mild-mannered James Madison had no children of his own, and his wife's son, John Payne Todd, age eighteen in 1808, spent as much time away from the Madison household at school as he did at home. |
