Chief Peter Clifford: A Very Morose Man

I wonder if the late J.D.Cannon ever tired of portraying the character of Chief of Detectives Peter Clifford as such an unfailingly grumpy and sullen man?

I mean, Chief Clifford even makes the famously bumptious and arrogant Steve McGarrett seem like Barney Fife or Murray-the-Cop by comparison.

Chief Clifford REALLY needed to lighten-up and lose that enormous chip on his shoulder and that burgeoning burr up another part of his anatomy.

Life is too short, Chief Clifford, to be such an ornery curmudgeon at such a relatively young age. Be more like Sheriff Andy Taylor and less like Ebenezer Scrooge, will you? I’m sure that Mrs. Clifford would wholeheartedly welcome a long overdue change in your all-too-misanthropic personality.
