Was absolutely shocked when I learned MTM was a three pack a day smoker for most of the DVD Show run.
She quit in 1965, never would have believed she was a smoker, she said she had a rule to be never photographed while smoking, I think I did see a pic once on the DVD set. |

Hmm. Shocked huh? It's a good thing you weren't living in 1964, EVERYBODY smoked. Well, most everybody. Cabs smelled like smoke, restaurant had smokers, my Mom smoked and so did all her lady friends. My Dad didn't smoke and I have never smoked. BUT I resent banning smokers and treating them like lepers. Bring back those wonderful refreshing Salem TV ads and the guy with the black eye who'd rather fight than switch. I'd still walk a mile for a Camel, just to see the shocked faces of today.

At the end of "My Husband Is a Check Grabber," they're in the car, Rob offers her a cigarette and she takes it. Doesn't actually light it.
