Default Iron Maiden - Lead Vocals

Bruce Dickenson is now a commercial pilot and he's still with the band.

Thumbs up

Maiden rule!
'Afraid To Shoot Strangers' is one of my all-time favourite songs.

'Afraid To Shoot Strangers' is from Maiden's 'Fear Of The Dark' album. If you don't own it you must buy it now cos it is a true classic. 'ATSS' has one of the most beautiful guitar riffs you'll ever hear.

I nicked the rockin' smilie from another message board. Quite a few people have PM'd me asking where I got him from. His address is -

I love Judas Priests 70s stuff...... 'You got another thing coming' is dumbed down/not as good in my opinion....

Cool

Strangely, much of Judas Priest's latest material of the past several albums appears to be in the 'Painkiller' era with its superfast tempos and buzzsaw guitars. It lacks a certain subtlety of their earlier work. Not that it isn't good, even though I haven't heard much of their latest album 'Invincible Shield'.

Cool

Iron Maiden has become more of a prog band than simply metal on the lengthy
'Senjutsu' album. Their epic songs seem to reflect Dream Theater and 70's Rush.

Cool

This week, Judas Priest has made history by becoming the first metal band to record two albums fifty years apart, beginning with 'Rocka Rolla' in 1974 to their latest album 'Invincible Shield'.

Talking

Kerry King of Slayer (who has now embarked on a solo career) says he doesn't like the latest album by Iron Maiden because "the songs are too long."

The 'Senjutsu' album has gotten mixed reviews, but largely seems unimpressive. Haven't heard much about 'Invincible Shield", but it seems predictable. Are both bands out of ideas?
