![]() Freddy Krueger Freddy Krueger of the A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise was a child murderer burned alive inside a boiler room by vengeful parents after his court case was dismissed due to illegal evidence being obtained. As he burned he was visited by demons which gave him an offer that he can continue his killing by using dreams. If you dream about him long enough and allow him to torment you more Krueger is allowed to enter the real world feeding off of your fears. Robert Englund has appeared as Freddy Krueger before he was burned or as other smaller appearances throughout the course of the franchise. A Nightmare on Elm Street - 1984 ![]() Robert Englund appears in one scene briefly wearing a black suit and sunglasses in the original film. He is presumed to be FBI or a detective on the lookout for Heather (the main character) walking to school after her friend's murder was going under investigation. Other people say this is Freddy appearing as a form of when he was alive or attempting to scare Heather by making it look like she is being followed. This little scene has no explanation. A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge - 1985 ![]() In the very first scene of the film Robert Englund appears as the morning school bus driver. He however later on turns into Freddy and this scene is revealed to be a dream sequence. A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors - 1987 Does not appear. Freddy's Nightmares - 1988-1990 A horror anthology television series was created based off of the Elm Street franchise which ran for two seasons. Robert Englund appeared as Freddy Krueger in every episode as the narrator telling the viewers the story of each episode. The first episode of Freddy's Nightmares dealt with the story of Freddy Krueger. ![]() In this scene Freddy Krueger is being escorted out of the court room after the judge dismisses the case against him. ![]() Freddy Krueger then goes right to his boiler room and puts on his famous glove ready to go on another killing spree. A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master - 1988 Does not appear. A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child ![]() Robert Englund appears briefly in the beginning of the film as one of the mental patients who rapes Freddy Krueger's mother which is a nun working at a mental hospital. Freddy Krueger was the offspring of a 100 maniacs which is a pretty good explanation on how crazy he is. Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare - 1991 ![]() A young Freddy Krueger appears briefly in elementary school during a flashback scene. ![]() A teenage Freddy Krueger is shown in another flashback scene being abused by his foster father. The foster father is played by Alice Cooper in a small cameo role. ![]() ![]() Another flashback sequence shows Freddy Krueger and his wife. His wife has discovered what he is doing; finding his secret room where he keeps photos and news clippings of his victims. Needless to say Freddy is not pleased. ![]() After killing the wife, Freddy Krueger goes up to his daughter and tells her not to tell anyone. |

Wes Craven's New Nightmare - 1994
This film was in a very different concept compared to the other installments. In this one, it is about the original cast of A Nightmare on Elm Street preparing for the next installment in the series. The "real Freddy Krueger", as in the movie icon, comes to life and begins to terrorize the original cast. Robert Englund appears as himself playing the Freddy Krueger character and as "the real Freddy". ![]() This is Robert Englund and the woman who played Heather in the original film after appearing on a talk show promoting the "new Freddy Krueger movie". ![]() This is Robert Englund appearing at the burial of Heather's husband along with the original Nightmare cast. ![]() Heather later calls Robert Englund on the phone and tells him that Freddy is haunting her dreams. He is rather amused at this since she is dreaming about him and offers her advice. Freddy vs. Jason - 2003 ![]() The film opens with a flashback sequence explaining briefly the origins of Freddy Krueger. He has just finished sharpening his blade and it is about to go for a kill. ![]() A next scene shows Freddy putting together a scrapbook of photos and news clippings of his victims. ![]() Freddy then gets startled hearing people throwing molotov cocktails down in his basement. |

I think that the original A Nightmare On Elm Street is one of the greatest horror movies ever made. Robert Englund was so good in that movie. Really scary. In the sequals though, I think Freddy became something of a joke. In the first film, I also love Heather Langencamp as Nancy. Nancy the most intelligent and resourcful of all the scream queens. I think she was a really positive role model for young girls. I also thougth that Heather was really gorgeous.

Freddy did become more campy and a bit of comic relief as the series went on. If you look at the Freddy in the original and in Wes Craven's New Nightmare, which were made by Wes Craven, you can see the different attitudes Freddy has compared to the sequels in-between. Heather Langencamp was awesome too. |

She does more behind-the-camera work nowadays. I believe she also was on the sitcom Just The Ten of Us as one of the Lubbock sisters. |
