Did actor Bruce Willis really have a singing career in the 80's?

Mom and I were listening to Apple Music and found Bruce Willis's album The Return Of Bruno and when we listened to it we actually giggled because I never knew Bruce Willis could sing. His songs are really funny and his cover of Under The Boardwalk is also a laugh and that song is so funny and when we were giggling like all girls do when their crushes sang I asked Mom why she liked that album and she told me that Bruce Willis used to be her crush a long time ago. How Bruce got into singing I would like to know more? Because he reminded me of William Shatner as a novelty singer

What made Bruce Willis launch a singing career i'll never understand. Because it seemed to be a fad that some Hollywood actors made fortunes as singers. I guess Bruce wanted to show that he could be a pop star so his fans could buy his albums and you can see why they are collector's items today
