Why was Who's Crying Now one of Journey's most popular ballads? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

When you look at Journey it seems that out of their ballads it seemed that Who's Crying Now is the most popular of Journey's ballads second to Open Arms and Faithfully and Who's Crying Now gets a lot of airplay on soft rock stations. Is it because people consider Who's Crying Now one of Journey's best ballads or is it because of Steve Perry's powerhouse vocals? Because I noticed that singers rarely cover this song and the only cover I found of Who's Crying Now was sung by Randy Crawford in 1992. Why this song gets airplay a lot i'll never understand

I have listened to Journey's Who's Crying Now and I can't get why it's a popular ballad of all Journey's songs. What's it about? Does the guy break up with his crush over something and he asks who is crying about their love?

Uhh, because it was a ballad. Ballads always get an obscene amount of airplay.

One thing I didnt ever understand was why the SIBILANCE was so strong when he said Mystery at the beggining....

"Its been a mystery..." it sounds like he is saying "Its been a misssssssssssssstery"

But I got an 8 track tape of this album and its the best I have heard this song yet as far as the strong S!!
