Jinny Exstead walked into the Division at 8:45 am with a slight grin on her face. Her life was finally begining to come together for her. She had a new apartment which was finally starting to feel like a home, she had been sober for 213 days, and she had a boyfriend. Boyfriend-- the word she had dreaded since she was 14 years old, now felt comforting.
She hung her leather coat on the back of her chair and sat down at her desk. Magda, who was sitting behind her glared at her with wide eyes.

Mag: Hey Jin, get any sleep last night?

Jinny turned her chair around to face magda.

Jin: Slept like a baby. Ahh it was so great mag. Teddy and I had a nice romantic dinner on the southside pier, and than we went back to his place and....fell asleep in eachothers arms.

Mag: uh huh. i dont wanna know the details in between.

Jinny smiled a little and than turned back to her desk. Raina walked over to Jinny's desk and sat down on the corner of it.

Raina: My my, someone looks happy this morning.

Jinny couldnt help but smile at her reluctantley.

Raina: Not to bust the happiness bubble, but Captain McCafferty wants to see you.

Jinny stood up and smiled at Raina. She walked into the captains office without even knocking to overhear her say "i love you" and hang up.

Jin: Ahh i see im not the only one who's happy now huh?

Kate: You?? Happy?? i guess i wont spoil that and tell you that you are 45 minutes late for work than huh?

Jin: im sorry cap i fell asleep at a friends and...No excuses.. I apologize.

Kate: Get outta here.

Jin: thanks cap.

Jinny walked out of her office and out the door of the division. She got on the elevator and headed downstairs to the coffee stand. She saw Nate standing there looking stressed out.

Nate: Double Mocha with a shot of vanilla.

Jinny overheard his order and smiled.

Jin: i thought i was the only one who ordered them anymore.

Nate: mornin' Jin. Have fun at the ADA's house last night?

Jin: Did you have fun at CD's?

Nate: we worked a case Jinny. Thats it.

Jin: uh huh. If thats what you want to call it, than thats what Theodore and i did all night.

Nate grinned at her a little. Than his smile faded to a frown.

Jin: what'd i say?

Nate: honestly jin. Unfortunatley thats ALL that CD and i did.

Jin: oh...wait....you said unfortunatley?? You got feelings for your partner inspector basso?

Nate: You got feelings for Me inspector exstead.

Jin: no course not.

Nate: thanks for answering both of our questions.

Nate grabbed his drink and headed to the elevator.
Jinnys mind wondered about what Nate meant. Why would he think she had feelings for him. Is that what he was implying? She was with Teddy...but suddenly for no apparent reason, as she watched Nate get on the elevator...she stared hard at him, and wanted to follow.

I always kinda wanted Jinny and Nate together, but then again, there's Teddy. So you cant ruin that...IN THE SHOW...but since it's a fic, continue!
