Billy Joel prepares to 'Turn the Lights Back On' with first new pop song in decades

“Turn the Lights Back On” will arrive Feb. 1 on all digital platforms and limited-edition 7-inch vinyl. A lyric video will also be released on Joel’s YouTube channel.

The song, which Joel teases in a social media post showing him turning the page on the lyrics to his 1993 song “Famous Last Words,” opens with melancholy piano chords before fading out.<<<

Billy Joel is gonna have a new song? Please tell me more about it Opus? I wonder if this means a comeback album is soon on the way? It's about time a new Billy Joel album is ready to debut because he hadn't released one since River Of Dreams debuted in 1993

Hi, Hawkee! I am surprised. I thought Billy had lost his voice. Will it be a new song or a whole album? I will wait to hear it to judge ir because for some reason his best songs are his older ones. Do you have high hopes for this?

I got to listen to Billy Joel's new song today and it's fantastic and amazing and it shows that Billy Joel still has his awesome singing and he shows it so well. Is it the new single of a forthcoming album Opus?

His new single is a lot better than I thought it would be. When hosting on SiriusXM Billy's current singing isn't great, probably because he is drunk a lot of the time.

I think Billy Joel's new single Turn The Lights Back On is a sign that there is a new forthcoming album being released soon and with this new single Billy will start to attract a new generation of fans to his music. Because when Billy Joel came out in the 70's Billy Joel knew he had a huge audience and when Piano Man debuted the song showed that Billy had found his audience. But when the new album will debut in stores later I think it will have the 50's styled sound that the An Innocent Man album had in 1983 but it's about time for a new comeback album from Billy Joel and we will see a tour in the works also. But what will also be next on Billy Joel's menu? A Christmas album perhaps?
