Default Why was Leann Rimes's 2006 album Whatever We Wanna not released in America?

For Christmas I got an autographed copy of Leann Rimes 2006 album Whatever We Wanna and I would like to know why this album was a UK released album and not released in America? When I listened to the album it has a pop sound like the Twisted Angel album and it seems like they were trying to mold Leann Rimes into a Kelly Clarkson like image with this album. The singles released in the UK were Headphones and It Feels Like and it's a shame that this album was never released in America because it is a great album. Did Curb Records want to release this album in America originally?

I don't know why it was never released in the states, but I was lucky enough to score my copy of the album when I went to her Kingsport, TN show in the summer of 2006 and to me, it's one of her best albums. "Headphones" is my most favorite song from it.

God bless you and LeAnn always!!!

P.S. Say a prayer for her by the way. According to this recent write up here, she is getting herself taken care of where Cancer is concerned.

What actually caused Leann Rimes album Whatever We Wanna not to be released in America? Because as a Leann Rimes fan since Twisted Angel became my first ever album of hers that I owned I eagerly anticipated the release of Whatever We Wanna but when it came out I never even saw the album until I got it for Christmas and was shocked that it was autographed as well. Is Leann more successful in the UK with pop albums and was this album set to give her a UK fanbase?

^^^ I honestly have no idea. I can only tell you to go here for her discography. The page talks about how well her songs and albums did in the different countries.

God bless you and LeAnn always!!!

I think the main reason why Leann Rimes's 2006 album Whatever We Wanna never saw an American release was because I think Curb Records wanted to market Leann more into the pop market but by judging by the poor sales of Twisted Angel Curb Records thought they could do it with Whatever We Wanna if it was released in America but I think when the album was made Curb Records thought Leann would do better in the UK market because the UK has a big pop music market but while in America Leann Rimes switched back to country music and scored with the This Woman album. But when you get the general picture I think Curb Records is one of the worst record labels in the world because they give pop artists little promotion and then their artists do poorly and I think why Leann Rimes signed with Curb Records was because they were the easiest record company to deal with country artists and that's why Curb Records is a mostly Country Music label. But Leann Rimes should release more pop oriented albums similar to Whatever We Wanna and Twisted Angel in America

To me, her album named Whatever We Wanna is the best of her non country music material.

God bless you and LeAnn always!!!
