Not sure if this has been covered. I generally don't check out this group on the boards.
There should be a digit channel focused on Talk Shows. I'm not talking about the obnoxious ones like Morton Downey Jr, or Jerry Springer. Not even The View, or The Talk. I could see the likes of Steve Allen, Dick Cavett, Merv Griffin, Mike Douglas, Phil Donahue. Maybe early Regis and Cyndy or Regis and Kathy Lee. The original Tonight Show with Steve Allen then Jack Parr. Joan Rivers, Rosie O'Donnell, Donny and Marie. So many fun and compelling interviews to be had. That's what I miss when Decades TV became Catchy Comedy the loss of The Dick Cavett Show. If there's not enough available programing then combine this with Variety Shows. I'm posting a new thread there about a digit channel for that format. You get the idea. So what do you think and who is missing? |

Griffin and Douglas both tried to market their old shows but there was little interest. Carson aside, the audience just isn't there. The Cavett reruns on Decades is a good example, Decades (a network I loved) was not successful, many of the stations that carried the network dropped it, eventually leading to the format change.
