I can't believe this but my mom was just talking to me and she asked me if there is ever a Beaver convention and I thought she meant like on the internet, but she meant in person. Like Trekkies have their convention why not a LITB one! Wonder if there ever has really been a big one like that? That would be a fun thing to do and even one or a lot of the original cast member would show up. Well, if we would want one, probably we would have to plan something. But that's a good idea my mom thought of. She used to watch leave it to beaver on reruns like in the late '60s or '70s. She was pretty young when it really aired during the 6 years.

That would be a fun thing to do! I always thought that people who actually went to a star trek convention were freaks, but ya know, now that I think about it, it would be pretty cool.

Well, I still think that people who go to star trek convention are freaks! No offense if anyone here DOES go to them! But this is a Beaver convention, not a star trek one!

I might well go to a LITB convention, if the location weren't too inconvenient. The situation isn't completely parallel to "Star Trek" conventions, though. Here's why I say that. When the first Trek conventions were held in New York City in the early 70s (which I attended), the show had only been off the air for a few years and all of the actors were still reasonably young, still acting, and all of the people who had been connected with the show might potentially appear at a convention without too much persuading. My mother lives in a suburb of NYC, so it wasn't hard for me to do. Also, there was a big movement among the fans to try to get either a second Trek show or a movie. In the case of LITB, many of the people associated with the show who might be interesting at a convention, e.g. writers, producers, directors, have probably passed away, many of the actors are long out of acting, and some of the people associated with LITB are quite old and not so likely to show up for a convention. Also, unlike "Trek" at that time, there isn't that much potential for LITB to come back (I wish it would, although it wouldn't be quite the same without Hugh Beaumont). I love LITB and might well attend such a thing, but the situations aren't completely parallel.
