For my birthday I got the lone album of boxer Oscar De La Hoya one year and I wondered if it was gonna be the start of a new hobby of Oscar De La Hoya to begin a music career? The album was released in 2001 and was on EMI Records and the lone single that was released was a cover of The Bee Gees classic Run To Me and I was shocked that Oscar De La Hoya could sing so well in English and Spanish. I wondered why he didn't make a second album because it seemed that this album didn't sell well and that's why Oscar's music career was short-lived

What I think Oscar De La Hoya was gonna do when he was gonna launch his singing career was try to attract the Spanish language audience with his album and try to become big as Marc Anthony and Jon Secada but when I listened to his album I think they were trying to make Oscar De La Hoya like Jon Secada and they thought starting in the Spanish language market would become Oscar's big step to becoming a successful music star. But I do wish he did a second English album
