Default Seeing Lisa in Portland this weekend

Well, here I go again, going to see Lisa down in Portland on Sunday. I hope she likes the banner I made, showing cartoons from her RV adventures. I guess I'm kinda nervous about the whole deal... Anything anyone want me to tell her??

Tell her I said hey and tell her that everybody wishes she would stop by the boards. I won't even bother about if she's coming to my town. Nobody ever comes to my town.

Tell her "Howdy from Texas!" and tell her Dannielle says "I hope you are enjoying the dominoes I made for ya!"

She's gonna be in my state twice, so I hope I get to meet her. I think in October she'll be in Huntington & that's when I'll try to go. Well, have fun meeting her. Blair's My Cherry PIe, how many times have you gone to see her now?

Cool re: My weekend in Portland

So now that I've kept everyone in suspense, I'll tell you all about it, but I might have to break it up a few times because as many times as I tried to tell it, there was something wrong with the computer that wouldn't allow me to send it. So sit back, grab some Screaming Yellow Zonkers and hear my fun story!!!!
So I got down to Portland on Greyhound on Sunday afternoon, and spent the day travelling up to Beaverton where she would be speaking at the Foursquare Church up there. It was hot and I was tired and thirsty, and I took several buses to get up there. I finally got up there at 4PM which gave me plenty of time to stress before 6. I went up to the pastor and told him that I had a banner that I had made for her that I was interested in displaying, if it wasn't too much trouble. He said he thought it was a great idea, but that I should have contacted them sooner, because it too late to put it up.... So I sat around and some time after that, I saw Steve come in and begin setting up books on the table. I was nervous and depressed--I always get like this when I see her, because I feel so worthless... So soon church began and the youth choir began singing a very beautiful uplifting set of songs, but my heart wasn't into it. Soon Lisa got up and began to speak about her life, her marriage, her trials, etc. and I felt so much better even after hearing it many times, it always felt like a fresh new perspective each time. I was in tears by the time she had finished.

Cool re: My weekend part 2

So then everyone went out to get stuff signed by her and I bought a photo that I wanted her to sign for someone, and I finally got my chance to say hi again, but since there were so many people in line, I couldn't say much. So I went back and bought her Drive-Time Devotional CD and had her sign that. But I felt like I wanted to do or say something that would really be special...what about my banner?? Naaaaaaah, she wouldn't be interested in that, it would be a big burden, a waste of time, totally inappropriate to land my silly pet project on her, after all if the church didn't have time for it, why would she... So I just better go, it's getting late and people are leaving.

I better show her my banner.

So I took my banner up to her and told her that I wanted to put it up but didn't have time, so would she be interested in seeing it?
She was very interested and so I showed her all the cartoon pictures of her RV trip, which she thought was a lot of fun!! She said that I was very talented--and that was great to hear from her!!!! That really made my whole day.
