Default Uncut version of episode where Carl is said to have died

Is it true that there is an uncut version of the episode where Florida returns home and tells Willona that Carl died in Arizona?

No but I found this information in a magazine years ago

I was reading a Jet Magazine from Sept of 1978 and it was stated in the article that Carl was supposed to be moved to a Veterans Hospital near Chicago in a episode of season 6. Either it never happened or the scene that mentions Carl being moved to a Veterans Hopsital was never seen again after it aired on CBS for the first time. Maybe they had to explain where was carl on CBS but didn;t have to in syndication. Just a Thought

I read something like,"There is a deleted scene in Florida's Homecoming Part 2 where Willona asks Florida where Carl is and how he is doing and Florida just shakes her head sadly, implying that Carl died."

When I read this thread last week, I knew I'd heard that somewhere. And I think that uncut episode exists someplace, a collector or something. But maybe the DVD episode is the syndicated version, where that dialog is cut.

I recorded a lot of episodes when the show was on Starz Black uncut, but I probably missed this one. I think I only recorded the James seasons.

This is the complete episode (parts 1 and 2), according to archive.org, and there is only a brief mention of Carl, contrary to rumors.

But they also claim this Columbia House VHS was complete and the DVD was an edited version. So is that true? The only complete version is this one?

Yes the columbia house versions were uncut while the DVD was edited which made no sense. That's how I discovered new scenes and was trying to complete my Columbia House collection lol

I know that I am late but the same thing has been going around on Facebook. Karl Dixon was phased out of the series. It was never confirmed that he died. I also have two copies of the Columbia House VHS version and the implied dialogue does not exist from these VHS prints from the CBS airing.
