CTV THROWBACK

Now it gets interesting!

The Conners (5 seasons - so far) (Complete)

The Conner family tries to live a normal life after the (alleged) death of their head matriarch Roseanne and try to overcome the demands and pressures of the world around them. A world that has become so strange that CTV now considers this great series - which debuted in 2018 and will start its 6th season next month - as a throwback, to what I don't know, but it will still be good to watch the series for free.

Three's Company

Two pretty female roommates get into several misadventures and misunderstandings after a strange yet handsome man moves in with them.

Like this show really needs an introduction!

The whole series can be found here to watch and enjoy as often as you wish. Its two funny but short-lived spinoffs can be seen on TUBI.

Sticking with the Canadian theme, there is one homegrown series that originally debuted on CTV in 1971 that I wish they or someone else would pick up soon sometime this year. It is called "The Trouble With Tracy". Despite the fact that critics and viewers alike have called this series the worst Canadian sitcom of all time or just simply the worst sitcom ever from any country, I remember loving it as a child in first-run viewing and reruns before it simply vanished sometime during the mid-80s. I had given up hope of ever seeing it again but then, as often happens, someone on YouTube was kind (and brave) enough to offer up a few full episodes for free viewing that were thought to be lost. Here they are exactly the way they were seen in their original form.

The Trouble With Tracy

Another great recent discovery happened after the death of the very funny Tommy Smothers, half of the great Smothers Brothers duo that hosted a classic and controversial variety series on CBS in the late 1960s. Before then, they starred in their own sitcom which lasted for one season in 1965. It was called "The Smothers Brothers Show" where Tom played an angel who was always interfering in his brother Dick's personal life. Again, only a few episodes have been made available for free online and hopefully more will follow soon (but not until I see more of "The Trouble With Tracy" again!)
