This never made sense to me. Bell for starters walks up to a bunch of boys and is pant less to begin with. So the guy is a pedophile. Secondly, when confronted he shoots Larry (played by McConaughey) repeatedly. And when Larry is lying on the driveway Bell goes back to his truck and gets a shotgun and shoots him again in cold blood. This is witnessed by Larry's mother and then his sister sees the tail end of it too. Then when confronted by the police he tries to shoot them. So basically since this is in Texas the guy is hopefully going to be charcoal in the electric chair because of this.
However................he gets bail and then vanishes. Are you kidding me? How on earth did this guy get bail and what sort of cash under the table did the judge get that allowed this. He ought to be hung himself for that sort of thing because as we know from the segment Bell attacked again in 1985, but this time got unlucky because he ran into a brave woman with a gun and he ran off. Honestly, the guy killed another man in cold blood and he gets bail? How was that even possible to have happened? This is such a break in the justice system that it is embarrassing. Luckily he got caught in 1993, but that was just by chance. They had him in custody in 1978 and let him go! |
