I received a great Christmas gift: a four CD compilation of everything Gordon Lightfoot recorded, plus 17 previously unissued songs for a grand total of 88. It is simply titled Songbook. The only downside is the middle tab holding CDs two and three is a bit flimsy and might break off at some point. So I bought some individual CD cases for them.

My favorite Gordon Lightfoot song is Beautiful (1972). Until very recent years, I would have said The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald (1976).
