Default Where were you? (optional)

Ok I know some of you might not like the posts about September 11th so all I can say there is TOUGH LUCK!
to some of you the subject may seem "old" but it isn't to me.
My mom always asks me if I remember were I was when the hijacked planes hit WTC and I can remember down to what I wore to school that day. So I just wanted to ask all of you on the board where were you on September 11th when the attacks happened? You don't have to reply I'm not trying to cause a riot.
I just thought it would be nice to remember.
As for me I was in Homeroom at school and one of the teachers aides came running down the hall and asked for my history teacher(who was also my homeroom last year) to talk to her and after he got the message he ran to his TV and turned the news on. After five minutes of watching the news and not understanding a thing about whats going on Mr. Schramka finally explained it to us. When the News came about the Pentogon being attacked I was worried about my dad who travels because I remember talking to him on my birthday and him saying he was going to Washington D.C that fall. So I was worried about him. I worried about him all day when I got home he called and said he wasn't in Washington D.C(luckly) he was in LA. I still think of September 11th often and I thing everyone should its an important time in History that we witnessed! Well thats all I have to say. And that I;m proud to be an American!

Umm....all the time and a lot are pretty much the SAME thing. Anyways, neither. I wont forget it, but I dont have to think of it everyday to feel like an American. The way you said it gave me the impression that if we dont think about it all the time, we'll forget it, not true IMO. No one will ever forget, but we also have to move on.

Hmm, there's no choice there that says "almost never." I don't think about it unless someone else brings it up. and what MilkNPepsi said...we have to move on! Talking and thinking about it every day isn't going to help us do that.

hmm, not all the time and not a lot really....

I just think we need to move on- dwelling doesnt help as ive found out w/ things before sept 11. the more you dwell the more you drive yourself insane. thinking about it wont change anything- those who were directly effected need to be working to find a "new normal" in life and move on, the rest of us need to get past this and be strong as the next phase- possibly iraq, possibly something else- comes.

See, you would get along with my good friend Erica. Practically every day she talks about this...she says she doesn't understand why people choose to dwell on all the sad stuff forever, and that people should just move on with their lives!! She would be proud of you. I'm proud of you.

I agree with MilknPepsi.

I haven't forgotten about it. Who could? It was the day everything fell apart and we realized that **** could happen. I don't want to torture myself by thinking of it everyday and relive every second of it again. Believe me though, I could never forget. We do have to move on.

I remember where I was when the attacks happened... I was sleeping. But anyways, like the others have already said, we will never forget that it happened, but we need not dwell on it either.

Does "optional" really need to be in the thread title? I mean, aren't all polls optional?

I think about it when it's mentioned on the news, and I watch a lot of news....
