Default Opinion's on Lucy's Three Major Shows

Well, of course I Love Lucy is a classic. The show simply put was great. Almost every episode was good. The acting and scripts were terrific. Lucy's next show The Lucy Show was also good. I would say the 1st year was superior and the next two were very good. The last three years of the show were good but didn't quite have it with the absence of Vivian Vance and the poorer quality in the scripts. Lucy got into some really absurd situations even for Lucy. Lucy's 3rd and final major show Here's Lucy was good. Lucy's daughter Lucie added alot to the show and proved she was a really good actress. Of course Lucy and Gale Gordon did a good job as well. The show had some really great esipodes too. Lucy and Elizabeth Taylor's ring is absolutely the best show Lucy ever made. Of course for the great and good episodes in the Here's Lucy series there were a few bad episodes as well due in large party to a poor script that didn't have a real premise to start with and that caused Lucy to be put in some really ridiculous situations similar to some of the episodes during the last 3 years of The Lucy Show. Most of these bad Here's Lucy episodes occured during the last couple of years.

ILL- good

Lucy Show- I never did like it. Don't know why, just didn't.

Here's Lucy- I liked when Desi Jr. was there (eye candy..hehe), but after that it sucked.

ILL was the best TV show ever made ask the people at the TV academy they inducted it into the TV Hall of Fame, only tv show so honored by the way. The Lucy show wasn't as good but some episodes reach the same level, Here's Lucy wasn't as good as the Lucy show or so we thought then only to miss it when it dissapeared, Life with Lucy wasn't that bad either, when i look at it now, i say that they should have given it a chance after another hit and it might have lasted. The Lucy Desi comedy hour were mostly great. All of them are better than the garbage that passes for TV entertainment today, in my opinion!

As a 22 year old, I couldn't agree more.

Cool I LOVE ALL OF THEM!

I Love Lucy: Love it

The Lucy Show: Love it too

Here's Lucy: Like it

I like all of her shows. All of them were great and unique in their own way.
The last three seasons of The Lucy Show aren't as bad as everyone says. Those seasons are just a different brand of Lucy slapstick and humor. Most of my favorite episodes ofThe Lucy Show are from the last three seasons. The first three seasons are great too.

I Love Lucy: A superior TV series, though I think the first year was not so great, often silly. But the following years (2-6) were wonderful. The series is a classic among classics.

The Lucy Show: The first season was outstanding. I would put it on par with the fourth season of I Love Lucy. The second season, on par with season 5 of I Love Lucy. Season 3 about as good as Season 6 of I Love Lucy. The last three seasons, without Viv, are hit or miss. Sometimes it's funny, sometimes it's not. Sometimes it's unwatchable. Those three seasons (except for a few episodes) can't compare with any of I Love Lucy.

Here's Lucy: The first three seasons are enjoyable. The family dynamic that was lost during the last three seasons of The Lucy Show helps this show during the first three seasons, though there are occasional bad episodes during this period. The last three seasons, after Desi Jr. left, the show pretty much reverted back to the same dull formula as the California episodes of The Lucy Show. With the exception of the episodes written by Bob and Madelyn, it was usually mediocre during the last three seasons.

Life With Lucy: Not nearly as bad as critics have made it out to be, but a far cry from I Love Lucy. Mediocre, like many series that for whatever reason actually become hits.

Ok, how about tackling her specials and guest shots now as i'm having fun watching copies of specials made for me by Michael Cordero at empiremedia, he sent these specials i hadn't seen in years with Berle and Hope, Burnett, Dino, Gleason and Carney among many others, it's so nice to see these again after such a long time, Lucy calls the president with Viv and Mary Jane and Mary Wickes, the audience response to seing them all with Gale too, was so nice. And Lucy's quiz show gigs, where she usually makes the contestant lose, but still the audience loves her so much you can tell in their response to ANYTHING she does!

When i was a kid, i saw her on Password all the time, even ditched school once to see Lucy and her friends, which i thought meant Hope and Sinatra, Burnett and Martin, instead it was Dick Patterson and Carole Cook, Mary Wickes and others, TODAY, i would be thrilled with those choices, back then, i wanted the superstars. A couple of weeks ago, i got some tapes of Lucy on Password and Body Language, it was at the end of her life 1986 and on, she's lost her memory but every time she makes the slightest face or gesture, the audience goes nuts, you can tell she's the Queen and everybody worships her, the only time i saw the OLD Lucy was when she threw herself on the floor to get a Body Language clue across, God what i would give to have seen the woman playing charades in the 30's or 40's, when she was in her prime!
