For Christmas I got very lucky when I got the whole Prince The Hits 1 And 2 collection and I would like to know more about this collection? It came out in the 90's and was originally sold in single discs and contains every Prince single from his debut in the 70's to the Diamonds And Pearls album and is the version I have the collectible version because my copy is the explicit version? Is the Prince The Hits albums one of the most hard to find Prince albums with the version I got because I had only seen the single disc versions of the album but never the whole Prince The Hits 1 and 2 collection?

I listened to my copy of Prince's The Hits 1 And 2 and it's amazing and whoever designed this 1993 collection of Prince was a genius. Because with this collection you get almost every single Prince hit and some hidden gems as well. Take for example I didn't even know that Cyndi Lauper's hit When You Were Mine was originally a Prince song and that Prince sang I Feel For You before Chaka Khan covered it in 1984. I also found that there is a third CD full of rare Prince B-sides and other rare songs. If you are new to Prince this is a great album to start with

I can't believe that I'm lucky to have one of the top Prince greatest hits albums and it's only my second album of Prince that I own and was Prince The Hits 1 and 2 a huge seller when it came out in 1994? I know Prince did release the album Come in 1995 so was this collection made to tide fans over till Come came out? Another thing I noticed is that my copy is the original explicit lyrics version and i'm wondering if this same collection is rare to find in a clean version or is the explicit version of this album collectible as well?
