And I didn't take her advice...I made money, spent money, and saved very little toward the end years of work. I was not stressed to save and I was not frugal, but I was Thrifty. Detest Waste of any kind.

Talking with some others about the future of Social Security and it's been said for years, it's doomed to end. It served me good for 23 yrs starting when I was 62 and still receiving it at 85. I just got word of the increase for 2024. I will give a little to a charity here with my one month increase. The rest I live on.

Where the world is headed with AI who the H knows....and I wonder how all the AI stuff will affect the Social Security system.

So as my mom said to me "save your money", take heed and don't waste and don't overspend. Think about your life down the road....and don't be afraid of work.....it's good for us.

Look at this as a kind of christmas gift to all of you folks.

We've heard the same things about Social Security and Medicare running out of money, for years. Yet they pull tricks and save them every time.

Nobody cares that the Federal budget is way out of whack. The states must balance their budgets--so should the Federal Government.

Steve: Yes but JOBS are few and far between and one has to pay in to get SS, what will happen with all the AI jobs I hear are coming.... AI or whatever you call it, are going to be flipping burgers at MacDonalds....
